10 Reasons coaching can help you reach your goal faster

You exercise quite often, you feel good when you do, maybe you go to a class a few times a week maybe you do your thing in the gym.

Your diet is ok, you think you eat quite healthily but do you really?

Have you ever needed another perspective?

Wondered if having someone to check in with would help?

If coaching has never crossed your mind, take some time now to consider if it might just be the missing link and the one thing that could get you to where you want your health and fitness to be.

Here are 10 reasons you need coaching to improve your health and fitness choices and a little about how it could work for you:

1. You have someone to hold you accountable to your goals

When you have a coach their job is to check in with you regularly and to challenge you to make sure that you do what you say you are going to.

This in itself can help you to procrastinate less, stop fear from holding you back and you will generally get things done faster.

We all have limiting beliefs, things that hold us back. Having someone to talk to and to help you identify them will help you break through them and actually stick to your goals and actions.

2. You have someone to remind you to work harder, push yourself or eat better

Checking in with a coach on a regular basis makes you identify what you need to do to move forward.

Having someone check in with you to make sure you actually do it is also powerful because it means you can take your small steps to the next level.

The actions you take every week may be small but they will be focussed. You can set your laser focus on one thing and that one thing can be to work harder at something specific or to eat better in a specific area, whatever you choose to work on each week this simple process allows you to push yourself harder than ever before.

3. You will celebrate your success

Left to our own devises we can be so negative on ourselves and blame ourselves for every tiny thing we do wrong.

Setting small steps with a coach is one thing, celebrating the achievement of those small steps again re-enforces your confidence to keep going. You will feel good for what you have achieved and you will feel inspired to set yourself a bigger challenge next.

Coaching basically helps you focus on the positive rather than the negative.

It won’t be long until you are beating yourself up less, feeling really good about your achievements and moving fast towards that goal.

4. You have someone to ask those niggling questions with no judgment

Ever found yourself wondering if eggs are dairy or if you should eat low fat or full fat?

Stop wondering, if your goal is to improve nutrition, coaching will provide you with clear guidelines to follow and give you the opportunity to learn about your food choices. You can ask all the questions you like and get an expert answer.

5. New ideas

New recipe ideas, a new kind of workout a small change to your exercise schedule, one of these things could be all you need this week to feel motivated and to keep you on track.

We all get bored, don’t know what to do next or have doubts about how well what we are doing is working.

A coach has your back, most of the time you will come up with the answers yourself, you just need to be asked the right questions.

6. You have clear purpose

A clear goal is very important but often I see people who's goals are outdated or no longer relevant.

Their motivation suffers and they wonder why they can't stay on track.

If you have no incentive to work hard you should first ask if the goal is right and still relevant.

Then check in with the reasons why this goal is important to you.

It’s easy to overlook this when you work on your own.

Why? A little question but so important to your motivation.

A coach will help you identify your all-important why, and this will help you keep on track.

7. You have systems to follow if you need them

Sometimes the only thing getting in your way is the system you are using to get there.

Do you record how you are doing, what you are eating or how well you recover after your workout?

This might just make all the difference.

Coaching will help you identify what to record to meet your goal, and give you a platform to record it and discuss where you are now and what needs to change in order to move forward.

8. Consistency is key

We all know that we need to be consistent to see results. Just do what we need to do day after day, week after week.

Coaching keeps you consistent and gives you regular check-ins to make sure you actually do keep on track and that you are consistently progressing.

9. You will feel more confident

Coaching builds confidence, by celebrating your achievements you feel good about yourself.

By feeling good about yourself you are more likely to try something new.

By trying something new you feel even better about yourself.

It’s a win/win!

10. You get to your goal faster

You have done all the hard work, steadily progressing every week, you have accountability and you are more consistent than ever.

Before you know it you have reached your goal and you are setting new ones.
